DanceMotion USA at BAM 2014: David Dorfman Dance & Korhan Basaran Company ’14
David Dorfman Dance returns to BAM fresh from a four-week exchange and performance tour of Armenia, Tajikistan, and Turkey, as part of the fourth season of DanceMotion USA℠. For this engagement, the New York-based company presents a new work created in collaboration with the Turkish troupe Korhan Basaran company, along with two Armenian guest artists. The result is a work that uniquely fuses choreographer David Dorfman’s progressive and community-minded ethos with the innovative contemporary musical and movement styles of his Turkish counterpart, Korhan Başaran. DanceMotion USA℠ is a program of the US Department of State, administered by BAM, which connects America’s finest dance companies with international artists and communities.
